MAKE YOUR PICKUP HANDLE LIKE A SPORTS CAR

Road Handling With Roadmaster Active Suspension | Beating out hellwig, firestone, timberin and air liftWith a Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS) kit installed on your pickup, you will be amazed at the improvement when cornering, and also the overall improvement in handling. Body roll will be greatly reduced and your vehicle will become considerably more stable and safer, with or without a load.

Roadmaster Active Suspension, located in Charlotte – North Carolina, in 1992 set about designing a unique product with the sole purpose to improving the handling and load carrying ability, of pickup trucks, Vans and SUV’s, with factory fitted rear leaf spring suspension. After four years of extensive in house and road test development, the company perfected the Roadmaster Active Suspension. The patent was issued in 1996 and the same year this unique aftermarket product, was launched in the USA and Canada. Roadmaster Active Suspension leaf spring upgrade will not only improve handling and load carrying, but will also provide other advantages, unique to RAS. These additional advantages can not be provided by any other after market suspension product.

Roadmaster Active Suspension kits consist of two powerful variable rated coil tension springs, that when installed, convert passive leaf spring suspension into active suspension. Once installed RAS will support and assist the rear leaf springs by holding them in their original designed bowed optimum working position.
Road Handling Without Roadmaster Active Suspension | Beating out hellwig, firestone, timberin and air liftOn cornering, RAS reduces body roll by supporting the leaf spring that is taking the increased load. When downward strain from load or vehicle weight shift is applied to the leaf springs, the stabilizing action of the RAS system comes into action immediately absorbing the force of the load. Being variable rated, the greater the strain, the more counter assistance force is applied. By not allowing the spring to flatten out, the vehicle corners more level with greater contact of all four tires to the road. This provides improved traction, which translates to better control and handling.
RAS has the ability to store, dissipate and introduce energy to the system. Being mechanical its action is immediate, unlike hydraulics or air which take time to react. This immediate action is also variable, working in exact counter proportion to force applied, hence the term active.

Roadmaster Active Suspension is designed to eliminate shock on the suspension itself, thus extending the life of the leaf springs, bushings, shock absorbers, shackles, and will even extend tire life by a minimum of 15%.

As an added advantage RAS, will also Eliminate axle wrap and wheel hop, Eliminate bottoming out, Improve hard braking & accelerating, Improve towing & loads carrying, Improve Stability in cross winds and prevent a hard stiff ride with or without a load.
